Sussex Harmony were delighted to be invited to sing at All Saints’, Old Heathfield on Saturday 28 September.

The theme of our concert was The Sussex Year; Rachel led everyone on a whistlestop tour of all the seasons, from Candlemas Eve through to Christmas! Some of our musicians also had the pleasure of playing pieces from the church gallery.

We were thrilled to see such a large audience to greet us at the church – in fact, so many came along to the event that extra seats had to be found to seat everyone for the meal included in the ticket price. (I ended up seated in the brides’ chair, kept for weddings – don’t tell my boyfriend!)

The first Saturday of October saw the annual Harvey’s harvest thanksgiving service at St Thomas à Becket, Lewes. This is a well-loved feature of Sussex Harmony’s year. The church was particularly beautiful this year, the scaffolding for ongoing building works being used to hang vines with great effect.

Our carol concert at St Peter’s, Preston Park, Brighton is popular year on year – details in Forthcoming Events on page 34 and on the WGMA website.
