2022 activities

After Covid we have been very busy.  Here is a list of what we got up to in 2022.  If you would like to hear us, perhaps join us, see the Events page for what is on the horizon or contact us via the Contacts page to learn more.

2022 Activities

Practices – 40, in which we sang 486 pieces.

 Workshops – 3 with the number of singing and instrumental visitors shown:

  • Bexhill - 16
  • Catsfield – 15
  • Hailsham – 12 ages ranged from 8 to 80 plus.
  •  
  • (All were repeat invitations to the Quire.)

Events –

    30th Birthday church crawl – visited 5 churches, all with audiences including Quakers for whom we had not sing before.

             Harveys brewery Old Ale harvest Festival service – audience in excess of 200

Concerts and Services --

      2 Choral evensongs – Catsfield & Hailsham, both with congregations in excess of 50

     3 Christmas carol concerts – Greyfriars Residential home, Lewes: St Peters, Preston Park, Brighton: Holy Trinity, Hurstpierpoint.  (All were repeat invitations to the Quire.)  

Funeral--

    West Gallery music  sung at funeral of Quire member, Mike Cooper,  to a packed congregation of about 200.

Other –

    Sussex Harmony hosted the 22nd Lewes Sacred Harp day, attracting about 50 people from all over the south of England.

               Informal carols in Lewes Folk Club
